Nigerian minister faults Billionaire’s claim over donation to Osun

The Nigerian minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, has faulted the claim of the billionaire father of ace singer, Davido, Dr. Deji Adeleke that he donated money to the Osun State Government during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Speaking through his spokesman, Ismail Omipidan, he warned the Chief Press Secretary to Osun State Governor, Mr. Olawale Rasheed, to stop deliberate misinformation about happenings under the immediate past administration, saying contrary to his claim, Dr. Deji Adeleke did not donate any dime to Osun as a state during the administration of Oyetola.

He was reacting to the claim by the Osun Governor’s spokesman that Dr. Adeleke made “substantial donations” to the state government under the Oyetola administration during the COVID-19 crisis.

But the statement by the minister’s spokesman, noted that “the Osun State Government is in the habit of lying shamelessly just to look good in the eyes of the public. I was a member of that committee. We have the record of all those who donated to the State and how the funds were applied. Dr. Deji Adeleke should step forward and say in clear terms if truly any amount was donated to Osun, under Oyetola.

“For the umpteenth time, I will advise Mr. Olawale Rasheed to always get his facts correctly, especially when it is about Oyetola, before saying anything. Facts are scared, ” Omipidan added.
