Ede, Osun State, witnessed a significant gathering of Muslim faithfuls and All Progressives Congress (APC) members in Ede North Local Government. The occasion was a special prayer session for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Honourable Minister for Marine and Blue Economy, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, and APC leaders and members in Ede and Osun State.
The 2-in-1 event, which included a Ramadan lecture was organized by the party in the local government, was attended by prominent figures, including Hon. Ghaffar Ajani Ayodeji, popularly known as Ghaff Unity.
The organizer of the event, Hon. Ghaffar Ajani Ayodeji, urged muslims to maximise the opportunities provided by the Ramadan period, offer prayers and supplications to Allah for the continued peace and development of Osun. He charged muslim faithfuls to remain steadfast in the teachings of Allah while he urged them to embrace peace and unity at all times.
The distinguished guest lecturer Imam Olaniran Shereef Ayobami (Atesirifi) called on Muslim faithfuls to embrace the teachings of Allah as exemplified by the Holy Prophet Mohammed, emphasizing the importance of forgiveness, perseverance, and brotherly love. This heartfelt appeal was made during his lecture, where the reverred Muslim cleric also encouraged APC faithfuls in Ede and Osun to remain committed to the party’s progressive ideals.
The lecturer praised the APC for its dedication to the development of Osun and the welfare of its citizens, highlighting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s transformative agenda as a shining example. This agenda has reportedly turned around the economic fortunes of Osun, tripling the state’s financial inflow.
In a poignant message to politicians, the lecturer urged them to introspect and reflect on their actions and inactions towards community and state development. He emphasized that religion and politics should serve the greater good, promoting societal development and human well-being.
The respected Islamic scholar issued a heartfelt appeal to Muslim faithfuls, encouraging them to utilize the sacred month of Ramadan as an opportunity for spiritual purification and selfless giving.
The scholar emphasized the importance of cleansing one’s heart and extending a helping hand to those in need, citing the Quranic principle that Allah rewards every good deed and is never indebted to those who carry out His will.
By emphasizing the values of compassion, generosity, and spiritual growth, the scholar’s message serves as a poignant reminder of the true essence of Ramadan, inspiring Muslim faithfuls to strive for a deeper connection with their faith and their communities.
The lecturer concluded by imploring progressives in the state to adopt an open-door policy, extend a helping hand to the less privileged, and champion peace in the society. This call to action resonates deeply, inspiring hope for a brighter future in Osun and beyond.
The organizer who had earlier distributed food palliatives such as beans, beverages and lots of varieties as ramadan packages across all the wards in Ede North and South Local Government stated his resolve to continue reaching out to party faithfuls as he is committed to the welfare of party members. He also used the avenue of the event to distribute food palliatives to over 2000 members of the APC and muslim faithfuls who were present at the ramadan lecture.
The event which drew prominent muslim faithfuls, members and leaders of the APC across Osun which includes Alhaji Abubakre Adesoji who represented the APC State Chairman, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, Alhaji Gbadebo Ajao, Alhaja Latifat Giwa, Hon. Kola Salami, the executive chairman, Ede South LGA, Hon. Maroof Kayode Ogundipe, Executive Chairman Obokun Local Government, Hon. Yele Alabi, Hon. Imran Mojeed amongst others.
