Osun 2026: Osun West APC Stakeholders Demand Governorship Zoning for 2026, Pledge Loyalty to Oyetola

Former members of the Osun State House of Assembly from the Osun West Senatorial District have reiterated their unwavering loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and expressed their support for H.E. Adegboyega Oyetola as the party’s leader in the state.

In a communique issued after their meeting in Osogbo, the state capital, the stakeholders emphasized the need for equity, justice, and fairness in the party’s decision-making process, particularly regarding the 2026 governorship election. The forum outlined key resolutions, including a call for the APC to zone the governorship ticket to the Osun West Senatorial District, which has yet to produce a candidate under the party since 1999.

While making this request, they acknowledged Oyetola’s right of first refusal to the APC governorship ticket, reaffirming their trust in his leadership and discretion. The forum also urged the APC to mobilize its structure from the grassroots to the state level in preparation for reclaiming power from the PDP in the 2026 elections.

Additionally, the forum commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his fiscal reforms, economic policies, and social welfare initiatives, which they described as transformative.

The communique was signed by Hon. Ajibola Akinloye (OSHA 2011-2019) alongside other prominent members from Osun West.

Key Resolutions:

1. Total support for H.E. Gboyega Oyetola as the leader of Osun APC.

2. Absolute loyalty to the APC.

3. Advocacy for equity and fairness in zoning the 2026 governorship ticket to Osun West.

4. Recognition of Oyetola’s leadership in deciding the party’s governorship candidate.

5. Immediate activation of party activities across all levels to prepare for the 2026 elections.

6. Appreciation of President Tinubu’s reforms and policies.

The forum’s plea for equity and unity within the party highlights the importance of ensuring inclusiveness in APC’s governance structure, particularly for Osun West Senatorial District.
