Expose: Adeleke’s Administration Caught in N2.6 Billion Security Vote Controversy

Contrary to its claims of not collecting security votes since 2022, the audited financial statements of Osun State have exposed Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration as spending a staggering N2.6 billion under the guise of security votes, according to Sahara Reporters.

Between 2023 and September 2024, the state allocated N2 billion in 2023 and an additional N684 million in 2024 under this controversial expenditure. This revelation raises questions about the administration’s transparency, especially as a separate N1.1 billion was reportedly spent on security services from January to September 2024, with another N527 million in 2023.

The attempt by Adeleke’s government to differentiate between “security votes” and “security services” now seems like a smokescreen to divert attention from the ballooning and questionable spending under his watch.
