BABS Chides Governor Demola Adeleke for Failing Osun People on His Two-Year Anniversary

One of the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ifelodun, Boripe, and Odo-Otin Federal Constituency and former Managing Director of the Osun Public Procurement Agency, Alhaji Bello Adegboyega Basheer (BABS), has launched a scathing attack on Governor Ademola Adeleke over what he described as a disappointing and empty two-year anniversary speech. BABS accused Adeleke of turning a blind eye to the pressing issues affecting Osun residents, further solidifying his reputation as a leader detached from the realities of governance.

BABS expressed outrage at how Adeleke’s office gulped a whopping N6 billion in just three months as stated in the government Q3 budget performance. The breakdown further showed that N1.75 billion was recklessly spent on welfare packages while N456,401,074.13 was used for refreshments and meals despite several challenges that our people are facing. According to him, this glaring reckless spending exposes Adeleke’s lack of empathy for our people who continue to struggle under his administration. “It is an insult to the hardworking people of Osun that Adeleke could stand before them despite the reckless spending going in his government without thinking about the people,” BABS said.

The APC leader also criticized the governor’s failure to address the unresolved issue of teacher recruitment, months after applicants underwent a rigorous screening process. He described the delay as a clear indication of administrative incompetence and a betrayal of the trust of thousands of unemployed graduates who had hoped for an opportunity to serve. “How can a government that claims to prioritize education be this nonchalant about recruiting teachers? This is nothing but deceit,” he remarked.

Furthermore, Adeleke’s refusal to even acknowledge the crisis of youth unemployment in Osun State drew sharp condemnation from BABS. He noted that while other states are exploring initiatives to empower young people and reduce joblessness, Adeleke’s government has chosen to sideline the youth, leaving them without hope or direction. “Adeleke’s two years in office have been marked by flashy dances and empty speeches, while the youth of Osun are left to languish in despair. This is a government without vision or purpose,” BABS fumed.

BABS concluded by declaring that Adeleke’s two-year performance is nothing short of a monumental failure, characterized by neglect, incompetence, and a lack of genuine commitment to the people of Osun. “The anniversary speech was not only a missed opportunity but also a confirmation of what we already know—Adeleke’s administration is a disaster,” he declared.
