Nigerian President Congratulates U.S. President-Elect Trump on Re-election

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended his heartfelt congratulations to President Donald Trump on his re-election as the 47th President of the United States of America. In a statement released from the State House, President Tinubu expressed his eagerness to strengthen the diplomatic and economic ties between Nigeria and the United States, especially in the face of the multifaceted challenges and opportunities of today’s world.

“Together, we can foster economic cooperation, promote peace, and address global challenges that affect our citizens,” President Tinubu said, highlighting the importance of a continued partnership between the two nations.

The Nigerian leader emphasized that President Trump’s victory underscores the trust and confidence the American people have placed in his leadership, and he congratulated the U.S. for upholding its commitment to democracy through a free and fair election process.

President Tinubu further noted that President Trump’s wealth of experience, drawn from his first term as the 45th President of the United States from 2017 to 2021, would pave the way for a new era of meaningful and mutually beneficial economic and development collaborations between Africa and the United States.

Recognizing the United States’ pivotal role in shaping global events, President Tinubu expressed confidence that under President Trump’s leadership, the world will move closer toward peace and prosperity.
